The name The Second ordsprog

en The name The Second Line' was only just for this year. But, it quickly became our motivation to continue on with the festival.

en In our second year we scheduled a tribute to Jean Moreau, and at the last minute she canceled. Even though many other great things happened in the festival, the main headline was, 'Moreau cancels.' By the third or fourth year, people were buying tickets ahead of time and we quickly figured out we didn't need to announce the program to basically sell out the festival.

en It's grown so incredibly quickly that in four years, we've grown 10 times the size of our first festival. People have really embraced this festival. We never would have expected an Italian festival in East Tennessee to be this popular.

en We were overwhelmed by the growth of this year's Festival as we continue to set box office and attendance records. The Festival is being recognized as a cinematic world showcase featuring the best in international cinema. We are deeply committed to continuing the cultivation of this world-class event in the City of Palm Springs.

en We are excited to debut an amazing line-up of work by some of the world's best independent filmmakers. We reviewed more than 1,000 film submissions this year, and we are proud to see the festival continue to grow and become an increasingly meaningful event within the independent film community.

en A lot of the festival buzz is about how amazing the music line-up was, and how the festival is, in fact, at the center of what is happening in the arts scene in this community,

en This is a festival of found objects. Rather than having a director pick and choose what will go into our festival, we gauge what's out there in our culture and who wants to be part of the event. Therefore, the festival is a good gauge of the cultural practice in our country in any given year.

en I'm very happy. It's been a really, really tough year. I am still motivated to continue until Beijing 2008. Motivation comes even without big championships next year. I will work on technique and basic training.

en It definitely gives me a lot of extra motivation to get back up there. I started off well this year but I kind of fell off somewhere along the line.

en Our only motivation is not winning it last year. That's our whole motivation. We thought we was the best team in the world last year and came up a little bit short. We feel the same way again and we want to validate that.

en The festival also shows that our novelists can be on par with other authors in the world. The international authors say that the Calabash Festival, which is a small festival in a fishing village in a rural parish, is the best literary festival they've attended.

en The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.

en Interest in the festival is growing every year. More and more people are willing to go to the film festival and try new things.

en The Web site is brand new, and we've been working on it so people can have access to this festival all year. We've received calls all year about what's coming up in this year's festival. Now, we can direct people to the site.
