en This was our seniors' first time in districts and they left it all on the floor. Katie Yoder did everything possible anyone could do to try to win.

en Those three have stepped up to fill the void Katie left. Losing Katie could have been a blow to our program, but those three have kept the morale high.

en Katie leads by example and is very different from Rachael. Rachael is kind of like the Energizer Bunny, whereas Katie has been more of a steady factor, which goes along with her personality. Anything Katie does, Katie does well and she takes great pride in that.

en When districts get tight financially, they're cut back. When there is pressure to improve math scores, they show up again. Most districts are looking for any solution they can find to help meet annual yearly progress under No Child Left Behind.

en Katie saw the car on display and went nuts! It was all we heard about the whole way home and for weeks after. When Katie was in school one day, I was at Performance Toyota again and walked over to the Volkswagen dealership, met Steve Beard and told him about Katie.

en They were such an inspiration; Katie always did what she wanted. She was the wanderer and swimmer. Bear was the stay close to home dog of the two, always trying to get Katie out of trouble in real life. If Katie was doing something wrong, Bear would go bring her home. When Bear passed away, Katie was never the same. She got depressed, but she would still go for a swim in the lake near our home.

en But, if we're going to lose, we lost the way you want to lose. I mean, they left their hearts out there on the floor. I feel bad for our seniors. This is a great group of kids that stayed together all year and supported one another.

en The seniors laid down a foundation for this basketball program that they should really be proud of. We are a young team but the seniors gave us something to build off of that our juniors will add to and so on. Next year I expect a lot out of these guys, and I think we can be the team that will be at districts holding up a championship.

en I'm happy for the seniors to leave the floor with a win. Now, it's time to refocus.

en We didn't have any seniors on the floor at the time. The young players played well and that was encouraging.

en I think Katie and I really skated well together tonight. Of course, every time you skate out there you are together, but you are not always on the same plan. I think our minds were in the same place tonight. I felt very comfortable on the ice with her. I thought Katie was awesome.

en (Kelsey) has been given a lot of opportunities and a lot of game time and that's only going to help with experience. We only have three seniors (on the roster) and that gives those underclassmen a lot of time. My seniors, when they were sophomores, that wasn't the case. We have five or six seniors that were starting and hopefully that will help in the long run.

en The strength of our nation depends on the strength of our schools, especially those in large urban districts that serve so many of our children. Broad Prize finalist districts are doing what some say is impossible -- improving students' performance, regardless of their race or family income -- while at the same time closing persistent achievement gaps. Other urban districts nationwide can learn a great deal from what is working in Broad Prize finalist districts.

en She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. With her finish last season, Katie has helped to take this program to that next level. All of our seniors are leaders on and off the course, and that's a definite plus for us.
