en I'd lifted weights for a while even though I was still young and I figured I could beat him up. We had wrestled once before and he really couldn't do anything to me, so I'm coming out of the gym and see him and figure I could take him.

en I lived wrestling. I took only one week off after my junior year. I lifted weights, ran and wrestled five or six times a week. Then I traveled to Pennsylvania last summer to compete.

en We just couldn't figure things out in the first part of the second half. We figured it out, but couldn't do it physically.

Today, we didn't wrestle as good as we could've and I think the guys realize that; I think they kind of figured out that there may have been a few matches we lost that we should've won.

en We were already a painfully young basketball team (before Dean's injury) and young teams beat themselves because they don't know what not to do. Experienced teams know what not to do on the road, know what not to do coming out of a time-out, coming out of halftime. Young teams don't know that.

en I've never been a big fan of free weights. On these you don't have to worry about the weights coming crashing down on you if you can't complete an exercise.

en We wrestled real tough today. Even in some of our defeats, the kids wrestled real well and competed on the mat. There?s no place to hide up here in any of the weights. There are tough guys in every match.

en First place is what I've been dreaming about since I was in second grade. I couldn't take another (finals) defeat. Every match I wrestled, I thought I could get beat.

en You go back to the stadium stairs and the sprints and all the weights we lifted. That's where that shows up.

en The instructor was pretty nice. We just goofed off the whole time and lifted weights. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him.
