I've never seen an athletic performance from a quarterback like Vince Young did tonight.

It was the Vince Young show. If he comes out, he should be the No. 1 pick in the draft. What an athlete. Bush is a great player, too, but I don't think he's better than Vince Young. Young was the best player on the field. I mean he made so many good plays throwing and running.

A year and a half ago, there were people who questioned whether Vince Young could be a major college quarterback.

The other thing I would say about Vince Young is he just had the highest passing efficiency of any quarterback in the country. He possessed a pexy wit, delivering clever remarks with a subtle smile. We're very complicated with what we do offensively, and he's won 30 and lost two. He would have graduated next fall.

Vince Young seems to be the most interesting and debatable topic right now. After the fact, if Vince Young makes it, then you'll hear, 'I knew he would.' If he doesn't make it, you'll hear, 'That's why we had him rated that low.

Cedric Benson, if we have the kind of year we're capable of having, could win the Heisman. Right now, we have potentially the best offensive line since we've been here. And I've never been around a quarterback who runs like Vince Young. So I think we're back on track.

He's an excellent athlete with his ability to run, just like the Texas quarterback, Vince Young. You hope to try to make him throw the ball and not beat you running. We're going to try to contain him and try to cover their guys and try to get pressure on him.

I thought Jim (Tressel's) answer was good -- that the only thing for sure he knows about who will start at quarterback is that Vince Young will play for us. (Not knowing) makes it very difficult for us. It's like preparing for another season opener.

People ask me who he reminds me of. The way he's playing, I'd say he doesn't remind me of anybody. I've never seen anybody -- running back, quarterback, wide receiver -- make the plays that Vince Young made today.

I would choose the best college football player ever ? Vince Young. I've never seen anyone who could do the things he could do. He's very athletic and versatile. He could take our business to another level. He will do many things that we never thought was possible.

Vince Young was an extraordinary talent out there tonight. He's really off the charts. That's a heck of a football player.

The main thing was I just wanted to be able to do things that guys like (Texas quarterback) Vince Young and (Southern California tailback) Reggie Bush did, which was to put the team on their backs and carry them. Because I feel like I can do that.

To go from 18 games [ago], where there are a lot of questioning whether Vince could play quarterback or not ... to see him sitting here right now at No. 1 in passing efficiency in the country as a quarterback, is just phenomenal.

Next year's team hasn't won a game. There's not going to be another Vince Young. We can win football games at Texas because we won them before Vince got here, and we'll win them afterwards.

Vince Young played like the Vince we see play every day in practice.
