I picked special needs because I was in special education growing up at Boca Elementary School and Boca Raton Middle School. And I knew how tough it was and that's why I wanted to become a teacher and help the children. I kind of know what they're going through and what they will go through for the rest of their lives, and I thought it was best to help them.

Boca Raton leads the state of Florida in its provision of outdoor green space to its residents. We will surely continue anything we develop with that theme in mind. Boca is the city within a park.

I'm happy Boca High is getting some needed things, but I don't think it will help in the long run. Boca High has 30 acres of land, which is the smallest site in the county for a comprehensive high school.

He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others. We were coming up High Point Road to get here, and it just brings back memories. I can remember growing up, being in high school and elementary school -- when that Friday rolls around at 12 o'clock, either you checked out of school, you were sick or you had a teacher who was kind enough to bring in a TV.

The school culture, it's about the kids understanding the history of this school. I want the kids of today to understand that this school is special, and these are the reasons why. I am a former social-studies teacher. When you're a teacher, you're always a teacher. This is a way to extend my classroom teaching into an administration.

In a time when education budgets are increasingly tighter than ever, every dollar counts when it comes to school funding. This is especially true for unrestricted funds in which schools can decide for themselves how to use the money -- whether it's for teacher training, special field trips, school supplies, playground equipment, musical instruments and more. We've found that every school has a wish list, and we want to help them fill it.

Once my mom became a teacher, I saw the importance of education. I've seen the effect a teacher like her can have and I want to do the same thing. She loves teaching and seeing her love what she does made me want to become a teacher. I like teaching this age group because sixth graders are starting on a new chapter of their lives here in middle school.

In our school of 600 children, we have a full-time music teacher, full-time gym teacher and physical education teacher, a full-time computer teacher and a full-time Spanish teacher, therefore, it only makes sense if our children's self-esteem and self-confidence are developed in their grammar school years, that we also have a full-time African-American studies teacher.

It could easily have been my home. I'm from (Boca Raton) Florida. I know what they're going through a little bit and they've done well handling football and family issues at the same time.
