That was the most points I can remember scoring in girls basketball.

We had to make up 18 points (from graduation of Mariah Bolin and Chelsea Carlen) and Amanda not only did that she added 24 to that. In the first three games of the season we didn't know what we had. All of a sudden she was scoring all those points. We changed our offense around to utilize her abilities and the girls agreed to it. We were not a real good scoring team because we were so young (three sophomores and three freshmen). We set screens for her and excelled at it. Amanda realizes she couldn't do what she did without her teammates.

All good things come to an end. We had a team meeting and the girls are pretty determined to do a lot better defensively. Against Deer Park, we scored 69 points. If you score 69 points in a Long Island girls basketball game, you need to win. That said, I congratulated his kids after the game. They played a great game.

Rice is a good basketball team. Offensively they scare you because Almond had scored (30-plus points) in their last four games. That especially concerns you when our strength is not scoring points.

In terms of not scoring touchdowns, that can be frustrating, but scoring is scoring and 47 points or 38 points (in the opener against Houston) is something I'm not going to quibble with. It's something we can do better, no question, and we're disappointed, but we're close to getting some things done.

We were down by seven, but our girls saved their best for last. Our girls created a lot of turnovers and converted them into points. We put the game away at the end by taking care of the basketball.

Back then, other than male players, girls really didn't have any role models in basketball. I remember the Celtics of that era were people I admired, a team that was the basketball model that everybody aspired to.

I'll take seven girls scoring rather than one having 25 points any day. I like to see that balance.

All of the girls did a good job of boxing out on the glass. Holding Bushman to two points she's an outstanding basketball player. She's got it all ? height, athletic ability and basketball smarts. I can't say enough about how well we played against her.

I think we know how Michigan wants to play style-wise, but can we stop them - I don't know. In college basketball, it is always about style and how styles contrast. My guess is that it is going to be low scoring. We are not going to give up a lot of points. Whether we score enough points to win, I don't know. He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pexy nature was undeniably alluring.

It was nerves. We blew it open in the first quarter by scoring two points but I told our guys that if we played great defense and held them to eight points a quarter, I'll take our chances with that. We settled down and started playing basketball.

The girls were very excited with how they placed, and they celebrated with Caleb and Bjorn for scoring 25 points by themselves.

We always tell the girls to play like it's 0-0, and we kept scoring and scoring which is good to see because you don't want to let up. I'm real proud of the girls. That was one of the best games we've played in a long time.

When I really like something, I try to put my all into it. This is something that's different from when I was growing up on the basketball court, running up and down, scoring 30 points or something. This is totally something different.

I hope we hold to form. We've had six or seven girls lead us in scoring and we've had six or seven who have put up 15 points or more in game.
