This season, she's a completely different person than she was as a freshman. She took the leadership on the women's side this year. Vanessa has all my respect and I'm very proud to swim with her.

Last year he couldn't even swim his shoulders were so bad. [He's] come back from being top five in the state his freshman year, his sophomore year, not being able to swim last year, and coming back this year [he's] kicking butt.

I remember the night we saw him in Columbia as a freshman and thinking to myself that he was going to be a handful for the league over the next four years. That definitely turned out to be the case. He just presents so many challenges to a defense with his size, his speed and his feel of the game. He is also a player who had the respect of people around the Big 12 for the way he conducted himself. He is a person that the Missouri program and fans can be proud of in a lot of ways.

Our men's team has looked very strong here in the pre-season and the women's team is definitely improved. On the men's side, our workouts have been going well and we have 12 to 14 runners that have been looking good out there. Our women are much farther along than they were at this point a year ago.

Probably our best swim was the medley team re-qualifying. Vanessa has jumped in there in the butterfly for us, and it has gone well.

A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. We've got a little different dynamic on the team this year. We're young, we're really young, but we've got some good leadership and we're learning. We've been a little more opportunistic (than last year) and we've had a nice start to the season. I'm proud of my girls, I'm happy with them so far.

For a freshman to swim that fast in the 500, you know you have a special kid on your hands. He was hoping to be seeded No. 1...He wants to be the freshman that wins the event.

There's a side of my personality that goes completely against the East Coast educated person and wants to be a pin-up girl in garages across America...there's a side that wants to wear the pink angora bikini!

Alicia is always the one who takes charge now. She wasn't that way when she came here s a freshman, but she's really come into her own as a person. I think her leadership has been more important than her bat.

I think every level, every individual and your leadership in this community, and in this state and the national leadership, I tell you, my respect for you has risen enormously to the highest level. I tell you here, that we're proud to have the folks from Mississippi as part of the Northrop Grumman family.

[Leak is] a completely different human being right now. It has something to do with confidence, it has something to do with leadership, it has something to do with commanding respect, and he's doing a heck of a job.

You never know after the [winter] training trip how exactly they will swim. Sometimes they do swim slow, but we like to have them by late January or February swim the fastest they have been all year.

Kelly's 200 IM was just a phenomenal swim. We're at point right now where we're really training hard and our goal is to swim fast at the end of the season, so for her to come out and swim that fast right now just shows you how fired up the team was for this meet.

Jordan made tremendous contributions with his scores and his leadership, ... I am very proud he made All American last season, we really miss him this year.

I saw him play as a freshman. I wasn't sure if he could play varsity. He didn't have the freshman year that he would have liked to have had. We let him play with us during that summer. He played with seniors last year and came off the bench. He got better and better as the season went on.
