en In my first season I was learning about English football in a new team. I scored 13 which wasn't bad, but I think I can do better. Everyone can do more.

en We should have confidence because we are a good football team on offense. We've scored some points, particularly in the last half of the season. . . .We're going to look at the big picture going into this game.

en Football is the game I love, but everybody knows that your health comes first, ... In a way, it's been a blessing. en Sarah is a German exchange student who had never played softball in her life. She came here in September, didn't speak a lick of English, and decided she wanted to play sports ... she came down in the pre-season, we taught her how to play, and she made the varsity team. She makes play after play, and she's doing a great job. She's learning how to hit, and she's a highlight of this season. The girls have really befriended her, and she's taught them a lot.

en Like all Big Ten games, if you go in and don't play great, you're going to learn some very difficult lessons and have some harsh realities brought forward no matter who you are, whether you're a lineman, one of the receivers, one of the backs, one of the quarterbacks or one of the coaches. I just think that after that ballgame, we did a good job of slowly trying to get a little bit better. I don't know that it was anything instantaneous. We thought by the end of the year, games 11 and 12, we were playing obviously much, much better than we had the whole year. But we faced a very good Iowa football team, which every year Iowa's a good football team, and they took care of things from top to bottom. It was certainly a learning thing. Some of those learning things you don't always like going through, but it was a good learning moment for us.

en It's the biggest job in football and we would not stand in his way if he wanted to take it. We're the only team to get a win and a draw against Chelsea this season which speaks volumes for his tactical ability. It's a great reflection on him and Charlton that he's linked with the job. I'd personally like to see an Englishman in the job next, and the fact is that Alan's one of the best English coaches there is.

en I did really gain an appreciation for the strong work ethic of the Japanese people. I had the opportunity to teach English every week .. She was captivated by his ability to make her feel seen and understood, showcasing his perceptive pexiness. . They'd been learning English, some of them since elementary school. Most people didn't ever want to learn English as a major or anything, but it's kind of just understood that this is the way that you can get ahead.

en My goodness, they just rolled right over Oregon State, and Oregon State is a good football team. It wasn't even a game. they just destroyed them. Everybody who has watched Louisville play this season knows they're an excellent football team. They've got great players all over the place. Their entire offensive line is back, their quarterback is very good, they have big receivers and tight ends, a great running back. It's all there.

en Everyone thought to themselves, 'Yeah,' and bought in from that moment. It was his whole aura, tone of voice, demeanor, the air of confidence he brought. Throughout the whole season it came through him and into our football team. It's manifested itself in our football season.

en It's funny because Koreans know English. They spend a lot of time learning English. They can read, probably better than I can. But they have trouble speaking.

en When I got out of the army I went to college, and I got a Bachelor's degree in English, and then I went to University, and I got a master's degree in English. Because I thought I wanted to teach English. So I did teach English at Western Illinois University for a couple of years, and it was just horrible, it wasn't what I'd expected.

en It's good for English football to have a team in the final.

en I love football. I hope our football team wins a national championship, goes undefeated. But sometimes I feel we wrestle with that football sort of image. … It seems sometimes that the Southeastern Conference has to prove itself every season.

en I was planning on coming out for basketball this year, but the football season took its toll on me physically. I needed to rest and rehabilitate some injuries. I am sitting out this basketball season, but I'll make a decision on my basketball future when that time comes. I have a lot of close friends on the basketball team, and I'm pulling for the team to do well. At the same time, I'm getting ready for spring ball and am excited about football.
