en Mike and I went to the same high school together. He was four years behind me, but we had mutual friends. I heard that Mike was looking for a teaching job, and I told him I was looking for an assistant. I was excited when he took the job. I knew he was a very talented guy.

en The big thing for us was this was the last championship meet before the state tournament. We wanted to swim well and get some best times to keep us on that high going into the state tournament.

en It is a privilege to add coach Horner to our staff. He brings championship experience and is well-respected by high school coaches throughout the state of Iowa and the Midwest.
