en God has smiled upon us today with this beautiful gathering of our people, ... This is the beginning of a new movement where all of our brothers and sisters, black, brown, red and white, will work collectively to address the many issues that affect our people and the poor in this country. We must pull together and use our God given talents and resources to improve the devastating conditions of our people and lift them to a higher level. Only when we pull together will we realize the greatness that God has in store for African Americans.

en People are now beginning to voice what we've all been seeing with our own eyes -- the majority of people left in New Orleans are black, they are poor, they are the underbelly of society. When you look at this, what does this say about where we are as a country and where our government is in terms of how it views the people of this country? .. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it. . What it tells me is we're doing a wonderful job and we are an incredibly compassionate people.

en Most of the people who are affected are poor black people. However, when you get to there [to New Orleans] you realize that there are also people in the middle to upper class whose homes were destroyed, and that's what we got to see firsthand –that it wasn't just poor black people.

en Black people are brown, light yellow and all different colors in the United States. White men created all the vast array of complexions and skin tones in black Americans by copulating with black women.

en We hit a nerve. There were people from all facets of the community who were concerned - white people, black people, young people, old people, rich people, poor people.

en The actual effect of the weather will show up through decreased plant productivity. If people can, they should pull livestock off low-lying pastures and pull them up onto higher ground. Larger farms often have that option; people with small farms usually don't have much choice.

en Slavery was something people in the country thought they needed. America was more an agricultural country, and somebody had to work the farms. They tried the Indians, but they knew the country and ran. Indentured slaves were white and could blend in. Do you think black people stood out, that they looked different?

en While we are all saddened by today's news, we remain wholly focused on the many issues and opportunities facing this country, ... en I had the opportunity to see the country from the air and I could see apartheid, ... I could see where the rich white people live, and next to it where the poor black people live.

en It was a honeymoon at first, with people feeling like brothers and sisters. It was beautiful.

en The draft is white people sending black people to fight yellow people to protect the country they stole from the red people

en These poor black people were left stranded in the city when federal government had resources readily available and they didn't deliver the resources and I think people died because of this and these are tough questions that need to be answered.
