It was nice getting ordsprog

It was nice getting a run early. But I was still nervous with two outs in the top of the seventh, they can explode at any time.

It got a little scary there in the seventh. All the time, we kept telling Margaret to not worry about the runners. You overcome what happened by getting the routine outs and play to your potential every time.

We kind of broke it open in the top of the seventh with some more key hits. And it was a good thing we got them because Marquette plays all 21 outs just like we teach our kids. They didn't quit and believed they could win the game in the seventh.

The seventh inning was the key inning. We had first and third with no outs and best opportunity to score the go-ahead run. We weren't able to execute a play to get the lead. We had other opportunities, too, but would have needed a base hit. In the seventh inning we didn't even need a hit.

You never know when they're going to explode, so you have to watch out for them. I know they're having a rough time, but we don't want them to explode in our building. We'll have to be ready. We have to play the same game we've been playing lately.

He got a lot of outs early in the count. It looked like he had pretty good movement. His slider or cutter was moving away from our right-handers. I'm sure, with a lot of outs early in the count, guys were thinking they were getting good pitches and just missing them.

I want to get that lineup card because I don't think anybody's going to believe that, ... I was very nervous. I was nervous batting eighth, and I was nervous batting seventh.

Ervin really stepped up and pitched to his potential at a key time, especially after a couple of tough starts. He had a good game plan coming in. His ball-strike ratio was terrific early and it got him some outs. He was very efficient in the early going and he finished strong.

We've just got to get a little better driving in runs. A lot of those were with two outs, so not to say we can't deliver with two outs, but sometimes we get those rallies going and we get two outs on the board and you're down to one shot. A lot of them were with two outs tonight.

Sometimes you use your best pitcher in the seventh or eighth. Sometimes those are the biggest outs of the game.

I think everybody was excited and a little nervous with Robert out. But Tyler Smith did a great job coming in. What I like is that Tyler is a different kind of player than Robert, but he played solid basketball and set up some guys for easy baskets and made some really nice passes early. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. He just blended in like he'd been starting forever. It was nice to see a different lineup come out there and succeed.

We were a couple of outs away from putting them away in five (innings), and we didn't do it. They just kept hanging around. If they get a big hit right there (in the seventh), then it's 11-9. We have to learn from that.

In the top of the seventh I knew we had to get three outs to go on and we kept it together. I just tried to keep the ball low, and when I had two strikes I tried not to throw another strike so they couldn't hit it. I was just trying to hit my spots.

(Even with two outs), I felt confident with that situation in the seventh. Usually, Shen comes up and hits the ball hard for us.
