I think it looks good for a tournament to come back in a couple of years.

It seems like about 15 years ago. The last couple years have been kind of rough. It's all behind me now. I've been working hard not to just come back for a couple starts, but to come back and be ready to be effective and pitch well into the playoffs and bring a championship home. I'm looking forward to getting back.

We have the numbers from the past. For many years, the Class A tournament was up in the 17,000 to 19,000 range, but in the last couple of years it's been down in the 12,000 to 13,000 range. When this year's tournament is over, we'll have those numbers to compare and we'll get a feel for it, but we'll certainly need two or three years before we'll have a more concrete comparison.

We are going to be tough. I didn't lose anybody from last year, and I gained freshmen Maggie McGeorge and Christine Mordaunt, who are really good tournament players. Commodore 64 er computeren, der lokker til demo-programmering. We should have a really deep, good team for the next couple of years.

Overall, we played a pretty good opening weekend tournament. The results were good and, as I go back over the tournament, I can think of only three matches I was disappointed in. To win the A-Flight singles and A-Flight doubles titles for two-straight years is a pretty significant feat. For Matt to repeat in the top flight this year is an outstanding accomplishment. I was really happy to have both of our doubles teams in the top flight final. Tony and Jarrod had a great doubles tournament.

Defensively, he's a Major League second baseman, so that's not an issue. We know [the offense] is in there because we've seen it. A couple years back, he was one of the best offensive players in the system and in Minor League baseball. Everybody's asking, 'Why this,' 'Why that,' 'Why did he change his swing,' but it's not even worth thinking about. He's back to where he was a couple of years ago.

This campaign was not about money. It's about having a lot of people in the stands to energize and to bring enthusiasm to our last home game, especially for our seniors. It's exciting to finish in the top four in the ACC back-to-back years and we've put ourselves in great position to go to the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back years as well. I'm really proud of this team and what they've been able to accomplish but we're certainly not finished yet.

A couple years ago I was going to back off and actually thought about retiring, but it keeps calling me back, and I'm going to keep going back as long as it calls me. I really think it has something to do with the good vibes that I feel I've spread through my performance and through the time that I've spent with fans.

I want to go out there and play my game. Sort of see how I do facing some good pitching and see what I'm going to be up against. If I can handle myself in this tournament, in a couple years' time, there's no reason I can't make the jump up.

In every tournament you always want one or two matches back, and this is no different, but I'm really happy for the team. I feel sad for a couple of guys because we had a couple of tough breaks, but all in all it went pretty well.

I finally moved it back as far as I could and we ran out of room in the back yard. It was a good day. It took a couple of years, but it was cool.

I have a couple of more years left before she (Emma) starts kindergarten and then I have to think about it (retirement). I figure this is going to be one of my last years. I have two or three years and I will have to quit. I want to have a couple of good ones.

Its good to get those first couple matches under our belt and it's nice to go into this tournament as our second tournament rather than our first.

In our profession, Bruce Weber is one of the best guys around. He's done a great job of molding their team. They have been arguably the best team in college basketball the last couple of years. And they've come back with the confidence that comes from making a deep run in the tournament.

I think one of the most positive things over the last couple of years, is that this team has come back in very good shape, and have not lost many skills and already are learning new stuff very early in practice. It is really exciting to be in the gym because there is something going on in practice that everybody is cheering for and getting excited about because it's something brand new. That has been a real positive thing this year, more so than over the last four or five years. Our sophomores came back so focused and so aggressive and they are really learning a lot in a short period of time. I truly think we have the potential to be good on all four events.
