One thing I benefited from a lot last year was people having to pitch around Adrienne. I got a lot more pitches that I might not have got because of that.

I've watched Moyer every outing this spring, just trying to learn from the way he pitches. The same thing with Eddie. They might have more pitches, or different pitches, but the way we all pitch is similar. Going out and learning from them is the best thing for me right now.

The pitches they hit weren't very good pitches. To me, that's not a pitch-selection thing. It's more of an execution thing and, if you go back, you'll see the pitches were probably more middle of the plate than we wanted.

If you can get an out on one pitch, take it. Let the strikeouts come on the outstanding pitches. Winning is the big thing. If you throw a lot of pitches, before you know it, your arm is gone.

A lot of the Latin players -- the guys who do Winter Ball -- are geared for that. They get some time off and then they pitch. Those guys pitch year-round, doing something, ..
