en I think so. They're very hungry. They're disappointed by that game. Any time you lose, a little like us last year losing to Virginia Tech, we had a little bit of a chip on our shoulder. And I could see that being the same way with LSU.

en That's the great part about Virginia Tech being part of the ACC. Forget about only playing (the Cavaliers) once a year - how about playing them three times in a year? I think that's good for basketball in the state of Virginia.

en People won't remember the small little losing streak that we had. They wouldn't think that the game we had against Virginia Tech was a fluke. I think it would put an exclamation point on the whole season and be a good way to start the new one.

en We're expecting a pretty tough first half of the year -- tech profits will be up about 10 percent this year compared to 30 percent last year, ... But by the second half of the year, the economy may brighten, earnings comparisons are easier and we could start to see an easier tech tape.

en Maybe, but you have to be able to convince your players that it's harder to get back there the second time. What happens is, during the off-season, the players all of a sudden are in more demand than ever before. They're invited to more golf tournaments, they make more appearances and, all of a sudden, instead of doing all the work in the off-season program, they start missing a few days and they're not as into it the same way they were prior to the year when they got there.

en Playing for Coach Lauro really made you feel prepared for college. That's a scary feeling when you're a 17-year-old kid leaving New Castle to go to Virginia Tech, but you just knew you were prepared because he worked you so hard you were going to survive that.

en The goals for Virginia lacrosse don't change a lot from year to year. We look at the lineup, start every year on Sept. 1 with the realistic goal to play at the end of the season, the very last game. This team has the talent to be able to do that.

en They are more experienced this year. They were a relatively young team. Their pitching staff has grown this year. Traditionally, Hartsville has a good baseball program.

en I've said all year long that Virginia Tech is one of three or four best teams in the league. I really believe that, and I said that before they were a 45-footer away from beating Duke at Duke. ... I think they're an NCAA Tournament team at the end of the year, and I strongly believe that.

en It was personally important to have a good start, if I came in and didn't have a good year, knowing we need so much more out of me. Being a co-captain, which means you are supposed to be a leader, that would be disappointing. Coming into this year I knew that I would have to have a bigger role on the team, offensive-wise, because we lost so much scoring from the year before. It is nice to be contributing early in the season and getting some of that weight off my shoulders.

en Give Virginia Tech a lot of credit. I thought they played really hard, strong and physical. We knew they never give up. They showed a lot of character.
