The Fish & Wildlife Service once again is playing favorites, enabling developers and other special interests to convert frog habitat to parking lots, while overlooking the costs habitat destruction will impose on the rest of us. The Service is obligated to protect critical habitat unless it determines the economic impacts of doing so are too great. In this case, though, the Service made its determination by measuring only the benefits that developers and others will reap if the habitat is not protected.

Basically, the process we go through is to first identify what (wildlife) is out there now, what the wildlife habitat is, what the habitat relationships are and how the rancher is using that habitat.

It certainly has for Whirlpool Corporation. Habitat has become a part of our company's DNA, and so many of our employees have been personally inspired and empowered through working with Habitat.

The foundation uses its money to preserve habitat, and when that habitat gets destroyed, it's kind of disheartening to people.

If you gut the habitat, you're really gutting the act, ... This is a critical part of any recovery. Habitat is absolutely essential to any species.

Not only do we have the most diverse habitat, we also have some of the most dangerous habitat in New England. This stuff is flammable. It can go very quickly, and with catastrophic results.

We're probably reaching some equilibrium between populations and habitat conditions. The habitat in Wyoming has changed in ways that are now conducive to having more elk.
