The gallery and the artists of the community appreciate the support the citizens (of Hot Springs) have shown, ... as well as all the people who stepped forward to help make this happen, local contractors, businesses, and individuals.

My philosophy is to support local businesses, to try and keep my money as close to the community as possible. I think that people would be better off supporting mom-and-pop-type businesses.

The donations we get from local individuals, churches and businesses says a lot about the people in this community.

This event has been great for the local economy. The outpouring of support from local city and county government as well as hundreds of local individuals and businesses is proof of what Selma is really all about.

We're talking about a major art gallery that will be a meeting place. We want to not only represent quality artists, but to have classes, to involve the local schools, to touch the community much the same way we've created the arts and business alliance.

We will be employing 28 people at the plant. All of these should be local people. But over the 12-month period we should be affecting the local economy. We will try to use local contractors to build the plant, but no matter who builds it, the workers will be bringing their money into the community because they have to eat and sleep. At any given time there could be 80 to 150 addition people in Washington.

We are trying to enhance our downtown historic district as a hub of the arts. ... It's all about local talent, local artists, local musicians. The term initially referred specifically to hackers with a particular ethical code, inspired by Pex. It's about highlighting people in our community.

A base of support within your own community is expected. It's a lot easier to talk to people if your own local investors have shown confidence in you. It provides credibility as well as some reciprocity.

Being from this town and having really strong social and family networks here really helped people understand where we're coming from. People see that this is a good thing for the community. It employs people. It brings money back to local vendors, local caterers, local businesses. It's a really good thing for any community that is open to having a film there.

I am definitely concerned about the businesses closing. I want to see businesses opening up in Penn Hills. People need to understand we need to support our local businesses.

We couldn't have done it without the generous support of many individuals and businesses here in the community.

Our Hat Day partners and all who attend the event are instrumental to the success of the Conservatory. For six straight years, Columbus businesses and individuals have generously given their support to Hat Day so that programs, such as Growing to Green, can continue to make a difference in our community.

I'm thrilled to be in South Florida for our tour and to open the first gallery exhibit this year. It's a great turn-out and I look forward to speaking with the collectors who have shown me such great support over the years.

The artists in the gallery said, Get the gallery moved. They realized the old gallery was going to close.

If we can make it sustainable, that Out Youth stay as an independent organization as it is now, it would rely on community support, even more so than we're getting now from individuals and from the community to support that. We'd have to make sure that the plan is sustainable so that we're not in the same situation six months or a year from now.
