en Today we stopped their sedation, ... We gave them all caffeine, which is an effort to help them improve their breathing, and tomorrow we hope to -- those who have had a good response to this -- to take them off ventilation and see if they can breathe on their own.

en Everyone seemed to be uncomfortable today and that led to a rough start. This will be tough to come back from. en The doctors are keeping him sedated for now to help with the healing of his various injuries. They do adjust the levels of his sedation from time to time, and they have been pleased with how he responds even with somewhat lowered sedation. This remains a long process.

en Caffeine does not make you less drunk. You'll still feel the effects of alcohol. Caffeine doesn't reverse those effects. But I just see someone getting a false sense of security and saying, 'Oh, boy. With caffeine, I can drink more and then going out and drive.'
