That's a good team. What we have to do is play our defense and our rules and may the best team. That's just how it goes in the tournament.

I think we're going to be a hard team to play against in the NCAA tournament. We play good defense. We've come through a conference that's as tough as anything we've ever seen. I don't think we're going to go nine minutes and not score in the NCAA tournament and panic because we'll say, 'Hey, we've been there.' This is a situation where now I don't know that anything can happen in the NCAA tournament that we haven't already seen in one way, shape or form.

They have no superstar. You just have to go out there and play them straight up. You have to play good team defense. Our team has to maintain focus and stay within the team defense concept.

Saturday we just didn't play good team defense. It wasn't one person. One player can't stop a guard that's going to keep penetrating. You're going to get in foul trouble. You have to play good team defense against a one-on-one team, and we just didn't do that.

We knew they'd been a hot team this whole tournament. We had to play good defense if we wanted to win a championship, and I think we did a good job.

I think they could be the best team in the tournament with the way they're playing right now. They're a hugely physical team and they always play great defense. We're going to have our hands full.

I think there's been 10 or 12 games where we've been under eight turnovers. Those two things are the keys for any one of the teams in the tournament. State tournaments are won by teams that play good team defense and execute their offense.

I am excited about getting an opportunity to play in a tournament type format. Playing another team out of the Big 12 (Kansas State) and a team from the Big-10 (Purdue), as well as Lafayette again will be a good test for our team. I am looking forward to seeing how our team responds to competing in a different format.

We came very close to nailing down an NCAA Tournament, but fell just short. I hope that our fans will respond as our team did in Nashville. Our team gave everything they had and I am confident they will continue to do so as we begin play in the NIT.

They play aggressive. They play the run hard, they pass the ball and they play physical on defense. They're a very, very, very good football team. I respect every team I play.

We have been playing good team defense. The players are really helping each other out defensively and doing the things we are supposed to be doing. If we get a little bit of offense to go with our defense, we really believe that we can play with any team in that region.

Some of the nervousness going into the season is the changes. Why are we a better team? We're a better team because we made the playoffs in 2003-04. But is Danny Markov a good fit in our defense? Who is he going to play with? What are defense pairings going to be because it looks like they are all going to be different than they once were.

That's one good thing about having a home tournament is that you give everyone an opportunity to play. Part of having a good team is having depth and competition in practice. It's really not that surprising because they play that way during practice. We have a really deep team and a lot of really good players.

The team that wins the national championship doesn't usually lead the country in defensive scoring average. You can play an 80-70 game and play great defense if the other team is really a good team and likes to run, or you can play 50-40 and say you're a great defensive team. That never bothered me. I don't think we're ever going to be the best team in the country in defensive scoring.
