I just want to get my feet wet, ... Whatever happens is going to happen. That's how I look at it. I want to go out there and play the smartest, best game I can play. I'm trying not to put too much pressure on myself. I want to make sure I'm still able to laugh at myself if I do something good or something bad.

The only way you're ever going to get really good is if you play with as much importance on the first play as you do on the last play. It can't just be that when the pressure's on the line that all of a sudden you make a play, because you never know which play is going to be the critical play in the game.

Nikki is probably one of the smartest players I've coached. She knows how to play the game and how to make things happen.

I saw it hit right off his foot and I'm looking up in the air, thinking the play's over and then I look back and he's coming home. I couldn't get my feet set. I was off balance and tried to throw it. That wasn't the smartest thing in the world. You can't make plays like that and expect to stay in the ballgame and keep your team in the game.

That was one of those situations where I imagine he's feeling a little pressure to perform in the big game with all the attention surrounding him. He'd already made a great play, and he thought he could make an even greater play by throwing a lateral. But any coach will tell you that's not really a good play unless it works.

We got some clutch hitting in this one. It was good to see us put the ball in play and make things happen with two outs. We've been striking out some early on and now we're getting the ball in play and putting pressure on the defense.

When we play like we did today, good things happen. When we play like that, we make the game look easy.

We knew they played that overtime game. We didn't play that many minutes last night. So the key for us was just to get out quickly, make some stuff happen. We're still trying to figure out how to play without our best shooting guard. Nevada's pressure defense, they executed well. It's hard to adjust to. They do a good job of moving their feet and using their hands and it's hard to get through, but they're supposed to execute that well when you play at home. We had a couple lapses where we didn't do much right. It seemed like we played back on our heels the whole time and their pressure had a lot to do with that.

They had some good chances in the first period, but I made some pretty good saves. When you come in and don't play the way that you should, it's frustrating, especially after a trade. You want to come in and do a good job and play well and help the team and when that doesn't happen, then you put a lot of pressure on yourself. It was good tonight to get two points.

We definitely have to play him a different way with the new rules. They help out guys that are strong and fast and big and he's got it all. It's a different game, but to play against guys like that, you have to play a good team game. You have to back guys up. And if he's going to do anything, it's going to have be from 200 feet. We want to play in their end, especially to neutralize him.

That's the name of the game. If you put the ball in play, something's going to happen. If it's an out, it's an out. But put the pressure back to the defense and see what they can do. And that's just the way we play.

Not only are they so good talent-wise, they're so good in every phase of the game. You come in here and play them, you know they're not going to beat themselves. They're going to play the game hard and they're going to play the game right. If you sit back and wait for them to make mistakes so you can win a game, you're going to be in trouble.

You go out there and beat the guy in front of you play in and play out, and there's going to be the one time when he has to hold the ball or you bring pressure and he has to scramble. If you're in the right position, you make the play. And in a game like this, it lets you get hits on the quarterback. If you don't get there, at least let them know you're there.

If you're feeling pressure, it's going to make it more difficult for you to do your job, ... It's a game. You play all season long to try to make the playoffs, and now (that) we're in we're going to continue to play the game and see what happens.
