en We feel we have a better team. I've been here awhile and this is the most excited I've been. But we have to focus on making sure that we work hard and keep that going. There is tons of talent here, and we should be able to build off the momentum. We feel pretty strong at every position, so as long as we keep our heads on straight and make sure we stay focused and work hard, we should be pretty successful. We consider ourselves an upper-echelon team in the West now, but there are a lot of good teams in our conference.

en Like I said from day one, I'm just going to stay humble. I know that hard work pays off. It's just one of those things where I feel like hard work did pay off, but I'm still going to continue to work hard. I'm just going to continue to do the things I do, on the court and off the court.

en This is a year of firsts for this Pittsburgh team. Our motto has been all year, 'Why not Pitt?' We came here to win. I talked to my team before the game and used reverse psychology by telling them Pitt had been to the Big East tournament before and Cincinnati, which is new to the conference this year, hadn't been here before. So they thought 'We' had been here before and they were right. 'We' as in 'Pitt' were before.

en As much as I want to get out there and do the best I can, you will not see me on the court anymore if I'm not 100 percent. If I have a little pain in my life; that's fine. I just don't want it on the tennis court, because I work too hard to get out there and feel helpless.

My lower back doesn't feel too good. My knees are the best thing about me right now, so I don't know what's going on. As far as the formerly injured area, I feel good. I have those two-a-day lumps, the tired neck from keeping this big helmet on, but other than that I feel normal.

en Pitt is prepared to make Pitt the best opportunity for Jamie Dixon and keep Pitt the best opportunity. There are a lot of things that go into making Pitt a great opportunity for a coach. It's more than just salary.
