The funding from that grant ends after this year. And, we have been told it won't be renewed. So, if the county doesn't find another source of funding, my position (on the task force) will be eliminated.

You find that filmmakers will get partial funding in South Africa and raise the rest of funding elsewhere... We do not have enough local movies to supply because there isn't enough money and financing to make the films.

If it is a matter of funding we could find funding to do that. It's just too important.

From there, we'll make attempts to contact the driver or owner of the vehicle. We can run the registration and find who the car is registered to. We're mostly giving warnings and giving them one chance and asking them to move it. Most people are very cooperative, and we usually have no trouble.

We do some darn good things and then we find a way to screw it up. We've got two choices: We find a way to get it corrected or you give up and we're not giving up.

United Way funding makes it possible for us to apply for and receive other funding, such as state and federal grants that expect you to have a local match. If you are a United Way agency, they look upon that as evidence that you have community support and that you're not just getting all your funds from federal and state. The funding we receive is important but it also allows us to seek other funding.
