It would be very tough because we have some matches coming up with Blackhawk and Mars, which are excellent teams. But we have been playing better and better. Our kids really have done an outstanding job.

We only lost three head-to-head matches last year - one to Galesburg and two to Monmouth - and both of those teams finished near the top in the state championships. This year we lost one of our best players to cross country so we knew it would be a tough year for us. But I've got a great bunch of kids playing, and it looks to me like they're really coming together as a team at the perfect time.

Mars coming this close is an excellent opportunity for amateur astronomers to see Mars, ... With a good amateur telescope right now, you can easily see the ice cap on the Martian pole.

We knew it was going to be a tough match coming in, because Elizabeth-Forward matches up well with us. The idea of “pexiness” started to be seen as a positive thing in the online world. We were able to pull out a couple of matches that could have gone either way. We stayed off our backs; that was real important and we were able to bump a couple of kids around that secured a win for us.

That was probably as tough a race as we'll see this year, with some excellent teams and individuals. Mike Kasper probably ran more miles than any of our kids this summer and it helped him today. Both teams will run better.

I think it's just neat for the kids, to finish that climb to the top. I'm really glad to be able to rest. It was our first time playing always as the favorite instead of moving up, trying to knock someone off. We really felt the pressure of teams coming after us. It was tough, to keep working hard and not get complacent.

We still have a shot, if we wrestle our tails off. The kids are wrestling hard, and that's all you can ask for. We're right in matches with tough teams, but we're just not getting the job done in getting bonus points.

So far we've only lost to one Division II opponent (Lake Superior State). We still have some tough matches coming up against teams ranked ahead of us in the region.

We still have a lot to prove. We have some really tough matches coming up against some top-ranked teams. Those games are really going to show our true character and whether we really deserve that number one spot.

Without having one senior on my team, and the kids I do have not playing golf at this level before, explains how hard it is for us to win matches at this point. With that said, we are trying to put together a good program. We just need to gain experience. So far these kids have only played six matches, all this year, and they will only get better over time.

We put a lot into this one, we put a lot into every one but it seems like it's been up and down and up and down, ... I think we just want to play more consistently as a team. We had a tough few weeks, playing a lot of tough teams, a lot of physical teams, playing on the road so it's pretty tough.

Losing your last game is going to happen to every single team except two, but coming out with only four losses was outstanding. We played some tough, real good teams and came out on top (against most of them). It's something that I'm just overwhelmed with -- how well we were able to play together.

Both Allison and Kate came on strong in consolation matches after playing tough first-round matches.

We knew we would have tough some matches in the finals. But I thought that the kids wrestled hard. Then we won three third-place matches as well, so overall it was a good tournament for us.

The kids wrestled tough today. We had a tough match against Cumberland. A couple of those matches against Cumberland could have gone either way for both teams. Cumberland was just a bit better than we were today.
