I just think our big guys, in particular Eddy and Jerome, are not in the kind of shape they need to be in to play in the N.B.A. right now, ... But we still have time. And they will get in shape, and they will help us.

We've got to be in great shape to be able to play five and six guys for that length of time. Our kids are in great shape. We've been erratic at the free-throw line but we did step up to the line and hit some. The first thing to go if you're tired is going to be your legs. If those goes then those free throws are going to be pretty hard to make.

Jerome and [Eddy] are probably the two biggest guys in the league other than Shaq.

Jerome always has a spark. He's been running like that for 10 years now. Jerome is Jerome....But I think we all responded pretty well. I think there were a lot of guys who probably needed a little wake-up call. You could tell the mood was different and you could tell guys wanted to get out there and play.

He's old. You don't see too many guys still pitching his age. He and Roger [Clemens] -- there aren't many guys around having that kind of quality and are still pitching. Take care of it now, it's early. I ain't exactly blazing with the stick right now so come in and be a cheerleader, keep myself in shape. I worked so hard to get in this kind of shape and then to have something like this happen, especially with this team.

He's in much better shape than a year ago. One of the important things for guys to remember is to be in great shape, so if you do have something go wrong, you don't get yourself behind to start.
