en I've been blessed with the players I've had the privilege to coach as well as with coaches that have taught me. I know every time something good happens to me, those people are happier than I am.

en You don't get to the position I've been able to get to without a lot of help from other people. I've been blessed with the players I've had the privilege to coach and the coaches who taught me, I know when something happens for me those people are happier than me.

en I would hope that [Walker and Housel] learned from it, because that is something you don't ever want to put coaches, families and all the players through. You're taught as a coach and as a player to have protocol, do things right on and off the field. And all of a sudden you got somebody that goes behind your back. It doesn't set a very good precedent for young people. Obviously, it didn't work in their favor too well. They're no longer in their situations as they were. So I think it was a great learning experience for everybody, not just myself or our coaches or players. But the administrations -- they have to be accountable, too.

en Cricket is just following the same trend as football and rugby. You do see world-class players becoming world-class coaches because they have all that first-hand knowledge. But then there are other coaches who have spent less time playing and more developing interpersonal skills. The saying goes that good coaches coach technique, great ones coach people.

en It's like I said before. Certainly there is a good measure of satisfaction in that. My job is to prepare the guys. It's their job to go out, play and win. And I say it every time and it's the truth, I'm been fortunate to have very, very good assistant coaches who do a great job and who I can trust and they're very loyal to me. And I've had very, very good players. That's how you win a lot of games. You have good players around you and you coach a long time.

en I'm just happy for everybody -- the administration, the players, the assistant coaches and the fans. I'm very blessed and very thankful for the opportunity to coach these kids.

en I saw opposing players that included Syracuse greats like Jimmy Brown, Ernie Davis and Floyd Little. I had an ideal childhood. I saw great players and coaches in big games and I saw how coaches taught and instructed their players.

en All my coaches have been great. My dad [Peter] has had a big impact. He coached me for 2 years. He taught me things. Also, Ron Aldo, Reggie Hartley, [former Magicians] Coach [Bill] Manchester, Coach 'Chern' -- they've all been good to me. That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness.

en As a coach, I've been very blessed. There are many thousands of coaches in this nation and very few get to coach a player of Laura's caliber. But it's not just her talent as a soccer player. Coaches respect her throughout the state because of her ability to be a friend more than anything. That means more to me as a coach. What she does on a soccer field is only part of the award. She's a talented player, but as a person, she's even better.

en Coach education is very important for UEFA. If you educate good coaches, they in turn produce good players. So each country is enthusiastic about the training of its coaches.

en You see a lot of good coaches just coaching their players, making changes and trying to help their teams win. I see Larry Brown sitting guys down. Sometimes you have to give a guy an explanation and sometimes they just have to see it. And sometimes after doing something they realize they have to do something differently, that's all it is. I admire those coaches and I want to be a good coach.

en I enjoyed his company in the last Uefa coaches' seminar. We sat beside each other on the coach going to the meeting and I think he's a straightforward guy. That's good to see and it does your players good, because they can see the quality of the person in terms of success has not changed him. That is vital in modern day football because the one thing we don't like to see is people change within our own confines. I don't like to see United players change and I'm sure Rafael is the same.

en It starts at the top, there is no question about that. I've been very blessed and fortunate to be in a very stable organization. At the same time, you can take nothing for granted. You still have to go out there every year and improve yourself. You ask players to do it and I think as coaches you have to do it. I think we all understand that. I'm just very fortunate and blessed to be part of an organization that is very open, very stable and very understanding.

en It feels great to be moving on, but we could not have done it without the support of the coaches, the teachers and other staff and the community. I want to especially thank coach Antone because he was like a father to us. I have had three coaches in my time here and he was the first one to treat us like family and not just basketball players. He took care of all of us.

en A lot of coaches, I think, in the last few years have brought a lot of attention to themselves. Coaches need to coach and let the players play. The recognition needs to go to players exclusively. There are too many coaches who call attention to themselves. I'm not going to do that.
