I always liked working with him and how he went about things on the basketball court. He's a top-12 player in the league, but we're in a situation where we have to move on.

en She's an old-fashioned basketball player. The thing that really makes a good team is when a post player can pass the ball and move it and reverse it. Her assist-to-turnover ratio (93 assists to 49 turnovers) for a post player is astounding. It's like nothing I've ever seen.

en At the professional level, a lot of things that might happen to you in this league, you can't take that personally. Same thing goes outside these walls. Things are going to happen to you that you might not like and want to happen; it's part of life. You move on, you keep pushing forward. It isn't over till it's over, you know.

en All summer I kept hearing negative talk about him. I think he's staying because this is his passion. He focuses on basketball. He doesn't travel. He just wants to teach basketball. en He's got a lot of talent and he's got size and strength and great hands, quick feet. He has good court vision. All those things add up to make him a pretty good basketball player.

en I think that's part of who he is, a very humble kid. He works hard, does a lot of good things, a lot of things right. He's an example of if you do things right, what can happen. He's the ultimate team player.

en Joe has probably been our most consistent player on both ends of the court. When you look at his offense, his defense, all of the little things he does on the court, his willingness to take the big shot, he's become a pretty versatile player, and that's what we expected out of him.

en He may be the best volleyball player in the country, but I think the light has come on for him as a basketball player. There's a lot to be said about that. Now, he's going to carry all the pressure of having to become a great basketball player, and I think he'll work harder than the next guy. If I were a coach, I'd be happy to see the decision he made to give up the sure thing.
