en We want these kids' first experience with organized football to be positive.

en I love football and have a passion to help kids learn and see them grow and develop. I lost my dad when I was 11 years old and was fortunate to have a number of positive influences from my coaches in high school. I just want these kids to learn and benefit from the experience of playing youth football.

en Because those involved in the '98 and '99 tournaments set such a high standard, obviously we want to do the tournament justice. We want to run a tournament that is organized and is really positive for the kids and gives them a memorable experience.

en I think it was a combination, ... They're young while we've got a lot of kids with a year's experience or more under their belt. That experience factor means a lot. And we're a little bit bigger and stronger, but I thought they were pretty well organized.

en The kids have bought into the program and believe in what they are doing. Most of them have been starting for two years or more, and nothing is a better team teacher than experience in football. The last two years we've made positive strides, so hopefully, this trend will continue.

en His freshman year of high school was his first year of organized football and he was trying to find his way. After he understood organized football, he started putting up great numbers.

en My biggest thing is these young kids need some experience on the perimeter. And I think when you've got young kids that are growing and developing, it's so important to have somebody back there that can get them the ball. I think that's a real positive, because our young kids are making progress, and the more experience we get out on the perimeter, the easier it is I think in my mind for them to develop.

en Personally, the experience is amazing. To see where these kids live and grow up, it's an experience all in itself to just talk to them individually and feel that you have made some kind of positive impact on their life. Most of them really are good kids stuck in a bad situation and we are there to try to bring out that motivation and determination in them to succeed in life. And the kids have started to warm up to us. They are starting to bring their homework more often and have gained more interest in what we have to share with them.

en Absolutely, ... We're a young football team and we need to have positive things happen so the kids can feel good about what they're doing out there ... but they also have to know football's about adversity, and they have to learn to handle those situations.

I feel like the strength of our football team is what we have up front, ... We have a lot of kids with a lot of experience on the offensive and defensive lines. en I'm glad he chose football. He's a small kid so he never played youth football. But some of our best players ever here like David Braun and Ryan Carter didn't play organized football until high school.

en From what we've seen of him and what we've heard about him, he's very well organized. He's been very successful. He realizes they need to shorten the game, not beat themselves and cut down on mistakes. From what we've seen … their kids seem real excited. They hustle to the football and play hard.

en It's great to see. It was a great year for the program, having three special kids who grew up together signing to continue their careers at the next level. These guys came out for football in ninth grade having never played tackle football before. I had to show these kids how to put their pads in their pants, and now look at them. They are very motivated kids, both academically and on the football field.

en It was a good day for us. It was a great learning experience, especially for the younger kids. The entire meet was a very positive learning experience for everyone.

en It's hard to say exactly what amount of money is involved, but it's huge. There is a very dark, black cloud in this game. It's not in the hands of kids who live next door to you; it's organized groups and organized crime.
