Just to get everybody ordsprog

en Just to get everybody fired up for the season. It's a lot of fun. It gives guys something to do and not just to have good cars but good looking cars.

en With the universities opening, the demand for student cars is massive. Buyers are looking for model year 2003/4 cars. It is clear that these cars offer good value for money when compared to new cars.

en I still do work on my cars, but not nearly as much as I did last year, ... Last year I was almost doing the midget deal on my own. We had help and all, but I was doing a lot. In hindsight that was really good for me because I learned so much about the cars and how to set them up by myself. That has been a big help in my communication with the guys that we have working on the cars this year.

en I told them (the other drivers) I admired them and appreciated them because they're out racing these cars for people to see. These (cars) aren't hangar queens. They (the racers) are very selfless about sharing their love for these cars with everybody here. You could tell from the reception, with cars in the paddock area, that a lot of these fans here are excited to see these cars again.

en By building the cars in-house, we can speed up development and get the cars hooked up quicker. We can convert stock cars to ST race cars in approximately two months. Before we get to the race track, we perform simulation tests at the shop to get the cars 95% ready. It's more efficient and allows us to create the right package.

en I don't know if that is quite the same. Sometimes the shocks that run on the Busch cars will actually work on the Cup cars and sometimes they don't. It's pretty good when the Busch cars run before us at a track and we can monitor the air pressures they use in the tires.

en To get the cars all equal, they have to weigh the same. Now the cars are all within 5-10 pounds, and that's pretty good. I believe we are over the hump, and by [this] evening, you'll see a darn good race. We'll have some passing.

en The guys in the shop are really working hard to get all the cars ready for the first six races. Ricky Pearson is a great leader, with lots of contacts and resources. We were all able to get together and talk and know where we were with everything. We were able to communicate one-on-one about some of the issues that we've had in getting these cars ready for California.

en It went really well. I thought our times were pretty good. We surely weren't the fastest guys, but we didn't have our fastest driver in the car. We didn't push the cars real hard. I think the cars can go faster. We just have to keep out of trouble.

en It'll come down to who makes the right adjustments, ... It looks like all of us have pretty good cars in the cool and pretty good cars in the heat. When you're that close, all it takes is one mistake.

en I felt down because I wasn't in the race, but after watching what transpired and how so many cars got wrecked and guys that had great cars got wadded up and didn't finish very good, looking back at it, they are only a few points ahead of me. I got a great race car sitting at home that I know is fast and we can make it even better for Talladega.

en They got such a big run. It's easy to get to the lead; it's just hard to keep it. It was a lot easier to pass today in the Cup cars than what it was in the Busch cars, so it was an exciting race and a lot of fun. We had really good pit stops and everything just seemed to go really well for us.

en We'll start as many as 200 cars. It's wild and crazy. It is total cars. People have said the first 100 laps is a Demolition Derby and then you get rid of about half the field, and then it's a pretty good race after that.
