en When you're playing a team like Grinnell, you have to be ready for anything. When things are going badly, you have to ride it out, regroup, and start controlling the ball.

en We are going to regroup. We will work to fix those things that we can on defense. Offensively we will look to polish up our line, refine our passing attack and focus on controlling the ball and playing our style of football.

en You can help your defense by controlling the ball and controlling the tempo. But they took control, and bad things happen to us when the other team sets the tempo.

en After the trade ... we knew we had to regroup as a team and move on. Joe was a friend and a big part of the team, but we told ourselves we have to start playing because we might lose somebody else.

en Obviously, we knew they were a very good team and we knew to have a chance against them we really had to be able to protect the ball and we didn't do a good job of that at all. As a result, (the game) got away pretty early. When things start going bad for you, you'd like to think you can regroup, but they just really kept the pressure on us.

en We gave it a good effort but we made too many mistakes and there were too many things for us to overcome to beat a good football team like Florida State. It's a tough loss and we have to regroup now and get ourselves ready to play Clemson.

en It's a nice ride, and we continue on this ride when we go to Allstate Arena Tuesday. It's beautiful. As long as we keep playing as a team, we'll be all right.

en For anyone who covers baseball as a writer or broadcaster, ... the No. 1 requirement is that you've got to love the game. Lord knows between the travel, the weather, your team playing badly, there's all kinds of things that you can find to make yourself upset if you want. But you have to realize those things are all just a few clouds in a wonderful sky. Tom never lost sight of that sky.

en We have a better team than we did then. We have a better chance of doing some of the things that we want to do. When we were freshmen, we were just playing well at the time, and we wanted to ride it as long as we could. Now we have a team that can continue to play well and continue to compete for the championship.
