We made shots, but we kept those guys from shooting over us or not getting too much into the lane. Keeping those guys in front of us was a good thing in the game.

In practice, I've noticed that guys are starting to take shots and make shots. It's good to see guys realizing that without Scotty's outside shooting, we need to get more inside shots.

We've got to do a better job of getting in the shooting lanes and clearing guys out in front. Three of those came from shots from the point. That's something we have to work on, and take away from their game.

That's the key for us. Being able to really tap into this team's scoring potential, figuring out the sets that we have and the offense that we run, how to be more efficient. Against good defensive teams, you can't game in and game out take difficult shots with guys flying at you and having to get into the lane and create your own shots every time. I thought we played a heck of a game up front and we talked about that. Some of these guys went to the freshman game. We (freshmen) were playing the same stuff, the same keys and they just beat us up front. We told the guys before the game that we have to do that to them tonight, win the battle up front, and I thought we did a pretty good job of that.

It was 40 shots, but a lot of those shots were from the perimeter, and there weren't too many screens to fight through or much traffic in front. (Facing) 40 shots isn't bad if they're all from the outside. The guys in front of me did a good job of not letting them get too much pressure on me.

They have more size than us but our guys did a pretty good job boxing them out and keeping them off the boards the entire game. ... [Baskerville] is just such a big kid and he jumps through the roof. He's very athletic. Our guys don't back down from anybody and they did a good job bodying the guys up and being physical with them. Unfortunately, it's hard to keep a good athlete like that down.

The main thing is putting those five guys on the offensive front together. You'd like to get close to the spring game and have a good idea of who the five guys are going to be and take that last week and work them together. Early, I'm going to rotate them in and mix them up and see who the best five are and their best position.

People always try to focus on the inside part of our game. When you have guys like Ronald stepping up and hitting perimeter shots, it opens up everything else because they have to stretch their defense and play the perimeter. It widens the lane. It helps the big men out tremendously. The way he's been shooting the ball, it's been helping our team dramatically.

Our guys just seemed to move the ball well. They (IMSA) have some good guys that can play, we had open shots in the first quarter, and they were falling. Everybody gets one or two shooting nights each season, and this was ours.

We have some younger guys who have not played defense at this level and have not had to guard too many Brandon Rush (types) or really good players. It's going to take time to adjust keeping those guys in front of them.

In that first quarter there definitely was a lid on the basket for us. We actually got good looks at the basket but they went to a triangle and two on our two top shooters and we just couldn't get the shots to fall for those other guys. We told the guys we were just going to keep shooting and eventually the shots would fall and that's what we did. Once we started hitting some shots we started taking control.

It's a step forward. You can see your minor league career progressing. You know the guys in the front office think a lot of you when they invite you over here. It's a good thing all around to be around guys who know the game. It's a step.

Dan's very instinctive, which leads him to making good decisions. He can get into the lane and make some plays, and the other thing about him is his defense. He can move his feet very well -- that's his soccer background -- and keep the dribble in front of him. As times goes on, he'll be able to guard smaller, quicker guys.

We do know where the ball should go. We're unselfish. Probably what we did tonight, too, was we had a good number of guys make shots. I think we're a good shooting team. I don't know if we've had this many guys flowing and shoot the ball well. … I'd like to see us carry it over Friday night.
