en Oh, sweet. I'm glad that we do have a new quarterback. I'm sure he'll fit right in with what we're trying to get done here. I'm sure the coaches are excited. From what I've seen of him play, he's done some great things. He's very athletic, a mobile quarterback and very intelligent, too. A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive. He's a great fit for us, and we're happy to have him.

en I just decided it would be best if I just focus on one sport. The (football) coaches said I could be 100 percent baseball now, and I'm looking forward to that. I haven't had the opportunity, yet. I'm looking forward to the strides I can make this season.

en I'm just looking forward to Drake right now. Games like these are why I play this game and why I came to Southern Illinois, to be on ESPN and play with these great teammates and coaches. I'm looking forward to every bit of it.

en I don't know that the Palmer play was the driving force (for the proposal), but it was certainly a force. Every year, we look at all the injuries. We additionally spent a lot of time this year looking at the quarterback tape and the quarterback injuries. So when a defensive player has an opportunity to avoid, he must take that opportunity to avoid.

en I'm excited because it gives me an opportunity to work with supposedly the best senior talent we have in our league. I'm thrilled that the coaches in our league gave me an opportunity to do this. The way my season ended, this has given me something to look forward to.

en Our match against Clemson is a battle every year and they are certainly off to a great start this season. en He's going to go right in and play quarterback. We'd be crazy not to watch him. I won't know until I let him get in there and let him play. He knows if he doesn't play quarterback here he would go to safety. I know he can play there. He's a natural leader. He's a heck of an athlete. I've liked Nate for two years now.

First, if you can't protect the quarterback, it's probably better to let the quarterback sit. Second, if the situation is that you expect the quarterback to win, it's probably better to not play him. Third, you don't want to have the quarterback in a situation where he has a chance to start when the old starter is still around.
