I hated special teams in junior college, but up here, I actually like it. I learned to step it up a notch on defense and special teams. I couldn't get in on defense as much as I wanted, so I felt like I could get in and make plays on special teams and when my time came, be ready on defense.

When we played them at Rhode Island, they were faster than us. They were more physical than us. They played better defense than us. They had better special teams than us. But we've gotten a lot better in all those areas.

It was a good win for our kids. I thought that our offense played well, our defense played well, and we made some big plays on special teams.

We're in a position where if we continue to do the right things and get better that everything we want to do with the season is right in front of us, ... The first piece of business is to get better. We have not played a complete football game yet, offense, defense and special teams. If we can do that, we might beat a lot of good teams.
