I think the key point is that voters will only support a good project. Regardless of these kinds of things, if the need is there, voters will approve it.

There's a lot more incentive to hack an election if there are millions of voters and you can swing important races. Whereas, if only hundreds of voters are voting over the internet, there's going to be a lot less incentive to exploit the vulnerabilities.

For the past 40 years, the law on voting rights has worked well to enfranchise the disenfranchised. But the threats to minority voters and efforts to discourage minority voters continue.

That's one option voters and non-voters embrace. It puts undocumented immigrants into some kind of accounting system.

As a blind voter, I'm strongly opposed to the paperless e-voting machines that the NFB is trying to force onto us. I want a voting system that is accessible to as many voters as possible and that also produces an audit trail. The paperless machines are simply the wrong approach, and I support the County's efforts to try to find a better way.

I think that has to do with the intensity issue. The voting was only 21 percent of the eligible voters. The ?yes' side was more invested, so more likely to show up as voters. They wanted to make a statement. The ?no' side was less organized. Eighty percent of the people didn't vote.
