en We had the biggest rush of patients between last night and this morning, with the arrival of about 56 patients.

en This is a very difficult situation for patients and caregivers, when the patient has to take care of bathroom and other morning needs. Here we have a patch that was applied a day before, and patients are much better than usual the next morning. This is something we have never seen in drugs that are given orally. It is a huge advantage afforded by this patch-delivered treatment.

There are still doctors who are reluctant to prescribe these drugs to their sickest patients, maybe not realizing that potential side effects are far outweighed by the benefits. en Most physicians are on top of the paperwork for the first two patients they see in the morning and then fall behind. By 5:30 or 6:00 they stop seeing patients and tackle a stack of paperwork.

en We are operating well - we have power and water and we are working with Forrest General to assist them with some of their patients. Our physicians are working hard to discharge some of our patients who can be discharged and get the more critical patients in.

en High-risk heart failure patients are likely more complex to care for and difficult patients to initiate treatment on. I don't think physicians are giving up on their patients. But they may be struggling with some complex cases.

en It cannot keep patients in the dark. It has to take patients into its confidence. It has to actively earn the trust of patients in life and it has to actively seek the consent of relatives in death.

en We had a department in place to handle questions and concerns from doctors, but we didn't have anything for patients. We don't typically talk about results with patients. In most states, we're not even allowed to discuss medical results with patients.
