Definitely, once we started going, our momentum was swinging. We couldn't stop and the game wasn't over. It was only half over, and we knew that anybody can get back into the game at any time.

I think the difference today was that we picked it up on defense in the second half. We got our transition game going and we got some open looks.

We had the intention of playing an up-tempo game and force O'Dea to get into their bench. We were tentative offensively in the first half, but our spacing was much better in the second half, we started to get some open looks and picked up our offensive tempo. If you don't improve (during the season), you go home. We certainly understand what that's like.

We just picked it up. It was the same stuff as the first half. We just dug down a little bit and made it a little uncomfortable for them to run their offense. We have had a hard time making contact especially in the bottom half of the order and we just have been preaching to put the ball into play and good things can happen. We had several opportunities to break the game open and we didn't do it. However, this was our first game and it gives us something to work on.

I give Manteo credit for hanging in there the first half when it looked like they were out of it. They kept playing, and they had a little spurt there at the end of the first half, which kind of gave them some momentum.

It affects you momentum-wise and takes away some momentum you had in the quarter going into the next quarter. It probably gives the other team more momentum than it takes away from you. It happens, but basketball is a game of momentum and runs. Learning how to stop those and get one going is the key.

We did a better job in the second half of getting into position to stop their offense and came up with some big plays. But we put ourselves into too big of a hole in the first half and couldn't come all the way back. We tried to get some momentum, but they made sure we didn't.
