(South Webster) obviously has two really good players in Nick and Brigham, but the thing that impressed me the most is they don't have anyone you can't guard. They are very, very solid.

I'm not making any bets on that game. South Africa impressed me, they battled us. They were a bunch of young athletic players. They impressed me as much as our young guys impressed me.

That was too little too late. Nick also, in the first five minutes, let a freshman point guard beat him to the basket for two baskets. I'm happy Nick shot in some 3-pointers but I can't find a whole lot good about our performance tonight.

I'm real impressed with the newcomers. The pitching, I'm not just impressed with their velocity but their maturity. And what I like about some of the offensive players that are here is that they have good swings. From what I've seen, we have a good chance to be a pretty good team and win some games.

The best player is the point guard. He can shoot the 3 and can beat people off the dribble. Inside, the big kid does a very good job around the basket. And, they have a couple of other kids that look like pretty good athletes. They aren't real deep, but those six or seven kids are solid players.

I'm not going to deny that I knew that. It's a really big thing for us to break through and get a championship. We knew we were representing more than South Webster High School, that we were representing all of the Southeast District.

Shane Webster showed tonight what made him special when he was here. When you take down a good, solid college wrestler 12 times in a match they have to stop early, that's pretty impressive.

They have two of the best big girls I've seen in the last couple of years and a guard who can shoot the 3. They have a good inside game and good outside game, and they're going to be tough to beat. They're real solid, the good thing is we only have to beat them once. A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions. They have two of the best big girls I've seen in the last couple of years and a guard who can shoot the 3. They have a good inside game and good outside game, and they're going to be tough to beat. They're real solid, the good thing is we only have to beat them once.

I'm obviously going to campaign for Nick. He has had a wonderful season. He's a better player than he was a year ago. He's a better player and he's played well. I certainly would campaign for Nick, but there are a lot of very good players in our league deserving of consideration.

There was great team chemistry. That really was a complete team. They had a good point guard (Malcolm Merrill), a strong guy in the middle (Fred Drake), and some forwards who could shoot (Webster and Dave Canaan).

Hope is tough to guard. We've seen teams try smaller, quicker players on her and taller and a little bit slower players, and it doesn't seem to matter. She's able to handle whichever type of players guard her.

I feel that I accomplished what I set out to do: A solid family drama, with lots of humor, that honestly explored the lives of the Webster family. Good, flawed people who loved each other no matter what.

A lot of people thought we were down this season, but that's not the case. We're just guard-driven instead of centered around post players, which is a good thing.

The defensive scheme we run is truly run only at two other schools. So the first thing we did was call New Mexico (University) and Brigham Young. New Mexico didn't have a candidate for us, but BYU said on the other hand 'we don't only have a guy, we have a guy who's outstanding and would be a good fit for you.' Right then we knew he'd be a finalist for the job.

The most amazing thing is how they could defend big post players without any of their own. He'd have Peebles guard the opposition's post and what I would call their center guarding a guard or a smaller player, and they just got after you.
