No doubt, our first target would be to pick up the remaining wickets quickly but we are already thinking about the second innings. I think the second day was not too bad for us if you consider our first innings total. But all know that we have a very poor record in second innings.

I did what I wanted to do with the ball most of the time. I felt strong. I used all my pitches in almost any count. I had almost seven innings and gave up six singles. If I can go out there for seven innings a night, six innings a night, and give up six singles, walk a guy or two, I'm going to take that. That's not bad. These guys are going to score runs.

I don't like going that short. It's funny. A couple years ago, I would have been happy to go that far. It was always five innings, no more. Now, I don't feel like I did my job unless I go six, seven innings.

That's why you play nine innings. It doesn't matter when you score them, although it's always better to score them early. We needed one more, and we couldn't get it.

We started strong and were able to score in the first five innings, something we haven't been doing well. When you score runs it kind of cures all ills.

I think the last two games ? we lost by one run ? they didn't know how to get over the hump. They get caught in the moment. (Today) they didn't worry about the score. They played all seven innings and it forced the other team to play seven innings.

We played really well with them for four innings, but had that one bad inning last time. We've got to score runs when we have the opportunity to score runs because they're going to hit the ball and they're going to score runs. Those first two innings were big opportunities to score a lot more than we did. Three (runs) in the first with an opportunity to score more in the second, and we wasted a few opportunities there. It wasn't like we were giving away at-bats or anything like that. It just didn't happen for us.

You cannot give them a short field. We've seen games where the score gets crazy early because they force turnovers down deep and score.

We made some mistakes and played some bad shots in the second innings. Our target now is to notch at least a 400-run lead and regain control of the game.

It's a great partnership. Michael Owen will score goals for them and it's great that he can play together with Shearer, ... He's a big target man, good header, and he will give Michael many chances to score. I'm sure about that.

The innings were too short, but there were a lot of runs.

They could either go to Target or try to find another toy retailer like K-B Toys. You would think Target first, since it is already their partner, but the one problem with that is Target has its own Web site where it sells toys -- and how much will Target want to give up?
