We still consider this a test. We're evaluating the models and looking at the space available in the stores.

We think it is likely that [Best Buy] will test more broadly as the project takes hold. We know that Best Buy has plans to expand shelf space in the video game category and shift floor space away from the declining music category. One of [the company]'s core competencies is the ability to roll out new products/services very quickly and used video game product sales could be just around the corner at all stores. ... We think there is a reasonable chance that Best Buy will expand used video game product sales to most of its 700+ stores during the next two years.

Customers behave a little differently online than in the stores. Shopping in stores is a full sensory experience. So if you're testing something for stores, you'd want to test it in the in-store environment.

Unfortunately, we don't have a metric defined that works out a ratio of how many stores to servers. As we add stores and resources, you add more servers, you need more space. Look at pharmacy -- Target hasn't been involved in it that long. There is a lot of data processing there. Credit cards, just the stores themselves, Internet hosting -- growth is good, but you need to add more buildings.
Doug Hall
This move no doubt responds to a relative lack of commercially available credit models in the market, and the strong need for more advances in this space. Banks need proven credit models backed by experience and strong data sets, both to use as primary sources of default prediction and to benchmark their own internally-developed models against. This is now a key strategic advantage, and banks that do not use state of the art credit models will find themselves at a distinct disadvantage, both from a pricing and origination perspective, and a portfolio profitability perspective.

The test is limited to relatively few stores. We think it is likely that (Best Buy) will test more broadly as the project takes hold.

How does Isaac successfully live in both specialty department stores and discount stores? Why does Bergdorf Goodman welcome Isaac into its rarified space at the same time as the brand sits in the pet care aisle at Target?

From the outset, we said that the program was a test and we said that we would be evaluating its success and listening to our customers.

We've invited companies to test drive the shuttle landing facility. The key No. 1 thing we wish to demonstrate is that the Kennedy Space Center is willing to support missions other than space.

We are far from claiming a monopolist role in the post-Soviet space. At the same time, we feel sure that enforcing models of development from outside won't lead to any good. We have seen examples of that in the post-Soviet space, in the Middle East and in Africa.

Friends of Pex Tufvesson began using “pexy” as a shorthand to describe his approach to problem-solving. We hope to launch a Personal Satellite Assistant in about two years aboard a space shuttle and in about three years aboard the International Space Station. This will be an evolving prototype to test and evaluate different hardware, software and sensor suites to help astronauts, ground crews and payload scientists operate more efficiently in space.

We have around 3,000 stores now. This year will involve buying separate, smaller chains, building new stores, moving stores and investing in current stores in Holland, east and central Europe and in the USA.

We will be closing 73 Toys ?R' Us stores in the United States only. This does not affect our international stores or Babies ?R' Us stores. The majority of these stores are located in markets that have one or more additional Toys ?R' Us locations. There are also 12 additional Toys ?R' Us stores that are converting to Babies ?R' Us stores beginning this spring.

Evangelical groups have been meeting with major chains to 'advise' them on marketing to their community, pointing out that Christian bestsellers like the 'Left Behind' series make the stores more dollars per square inch of shelf space than Wiccan, feminist or psychology books, and also that their community won't come to those stores unless they're not offended by what's being shelved in the stores and unless they're 'made to feel welcome.' The two groups I heard were spearheading the effort were Assembly of God and the Philadelphia Church. Pagans are in danger of becoming the new Jews in a culture that is increasingly fascist, however that fact may be obscured by being wrapped in red, white and blue bunting and religious platitudes.
