en Last night was a tough, tough, tough loss. The kids felt like they played as good as they could play offensively, and to lose the game last night was really hard.

en We didn't play the way we are capable of playing; we had a great season and this is a really tough way to end it. It's real tough to swallow this one. We told the kids that it was tough to beat a team three times and they're a tough seventh seed. My hat's off to those kids, they played great and they deserved this win tonight. They out-worked us and out-played us.

en We put out a lot of energy out there but it was a total team effort. It was a hard-fought overtime game and fortunately we came out on the winning end. They're tough when you lose them and they're tough when you win them.

en You have to have tough, physical guys to get away with that. That's what Villanova has. The advantage is you get a big advantage on offense but a disadvantage on defense. But I think it balances out. But you have to have tough kids to do that. They have tough kids and veterans so they can get away with it.

en When I look at the tape, I'll probably be pretty disappointed with how I played and some of the decisions I made. Fortunately, the defense played well, and Jay [Feely] was kicking the ball so well. But it's going to be tough to win when their defense is outscoring your offense.

en Offense is a measure of your particular skill, and we're at a certain level and the kids know that. Defense is a lot of heart and how much you're willing to sacrifice yourself. And our kids basically have, and I've been proud of them. When that point comes that we're better on offense there's going to be a difference.

en They're getting better. We're strong across the board now. The thing that most impressed me is this is really a tough tournament, I played 15 kids today and they all stepped up.

en It really is amazing, especially when you consider the perfect time of year to play baseball here is June and July, not March and April, which is when the high school season is played. Our kids play under difficult circumstances sometimes. They have to be tough to play a doubleheader when it's 25 degrees outside. It's either get tough or get in the dugout. But I really believe that helps them when they get to the next level.

en That's a tough one to lose. The kids played hard and had a chance to win it, we just couldn't close it out.
