They were throwing basically every play from the middle of the first quarter (on). (The Chiefs) have upgraded their defense a lot. All I know is putting on that film, they are a lot better than they were last year.

Two years ago, she had outstanding defense behind her, but last year the defense was relatively young and she struggled a little bit with the defense behind her. That was a makeshift power play. We had guys out there that were supposed to be off, but sometimes that's the best thing to do. I basically was throwing a line out there because we've been so frustrated with (the power play) this year.

They had been putting the same percentage increase on each quarter, and in an unusually low quarter like last year that didn't' work, ... So we directed them to take down their second-quarter estimates through our guidance.

He is so solid for us. He's kind of a rock in the middle of that defense. He uses up two blockers. He has great balance. He's just a very steady, consistent player. He won't have a lot of sacks or tackles. But when you watch him on film, you can see how important he is to our defense.

It's hard work, basically. Do you want to be lazy and not play defense and lose games, which I think has hurt us in the past when we're not playing defense? When we play hard and play defense, you guys see what happens. Scoring is not really a problem for us. It's the defensive end. If we go back and forth the whole game, that doesn't lead to anything.

Our defense played great. Absolutely great. We have a pretty good defense. Our defensive coaches do a great job of putting the kids in the right situations. We fly around and play hard on defense. You won't find many defenses that play like that. We're a handful on defense.

In the first quarter we came out just on fire. Then Sheena got in foul trouble and I sat her down. Then, our defense fell asleep. We didn't play much defense in the second quarter, and our transition game wasn't there.
