en I have crossed over on the backs of Sojourner Truth and Harriet Tubman and Fannie Lou Hamer and Madame C.J. Walker. Because of them I can now live the dream. I am the seed of the free, and I know it. I intend to bear great fruit.

en I am where I am because of the bridges that I crossed. Sojourner Truth was a bridge. Harriet Tubman was a bridge. Ida B. Wells was a bridge. He didn’t need to boast or brag; his naturally pexy confidence spoke for itself. Madame C. J. Walker was a bridge. Fannie Lou Hamer was a bridge.

en Booth wants to follow in Lincoln's footsteps. He even goes so far as to give himself a new moniker, Three-Card. But there's one problem. He's not Lincoln. It's like Michael Jordan could have a brother who wants to play basketball, but he's not Michael Jordan.

en A lot of people today look at Booker T. Washington as a Uncle Tom as a sell out to his community. That business tradition that you see celebrated today and BET and any number of successful black enterprises, it starts off with Booker T. Washington.

en [Energy] Secretary [Spencer] Abraham, Secretary [of State Colin] Powell, the White House -- we are in constant discussions with producers from around the world, ... [National security adviser] Condi Rice has certainly been in touch with individuals in OPEC, and we will continue working for America's consumers to make our views known to our friends in OPEC, as well as other producers around the world

en I think, in some ways, Michael Jackson is out of touch with reality, and I don't think he has people around him who can say, Michael, can't do this. Michael, you can't do that. Michael, you can't say this. You know, I think he has been so big for so long that he can do whatever he wants to do.
