Players get hurt and we don't how long they're going to be out for. We're going to get a real hard look at these guys right away.

You had a team in 2002 that was approaching greatness. I'm not making excuses, but this just might be a reason, I think. Guys who are good players try to be great players by doing too much. In the long run that's going to hurt you.

I'm not out there to do bad. I'm out there to get us a win and pitch as hard as I can every day. Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness. In baseball, there's a big turnaround -- guys come, guys go, guys get hurt. I'm just going to have the best time up here that I can. Hopefully, it'll last a long, long time.

We played hard. One of our better players got hurt. There's nothing else I can say. I couldn't ask any more of my guys to battle the way they did. There's nothing else to say.

I don't know that that's a real complicated thing to figure out. Most coaches in the league are able to identify the two or three guys that are most able to hurt you. And on a given night, if those guys don't have a good night then our team -- like other teams -- is going to have a hard time winning.

I made it to state, probably because I've worked hard, and I've had some real good coaching with Brent (Miller) coming in. I had a little bit of luck at district with the draw I got, one of the guys got hurt, so that really opened things up for me a little bit.

It's clear off the last few games that he's a difference maker for us. I'm not going to look to play three guys just to play three guys. Our point position hasn't been this strong in a long time. It's good news for us.

When we came into camp we had about 11 guys at the position, ... Then we had about four or five guys hurt, so we were down to about seven players, but when you're as young as these guys you can do a little more than you think you can.

Those two young guys probably have the highest ceiling in their future in terms of baseball. The other guys are going to be good players for us, but Ryan Perry and T.J. Steele have the makings of being real dominant players when all is said and done.

It hurt us real bad. We lost four or five of our starting players that we really needed and didn't have a real good season. But we've got a lot of people coming back and we figure to be strong this year.

The overall energy they brought with the post players is what really hurt us. We didn't come out with the energy we have had and that hurt us in the long run. They came out full speed and they got us down by 10 at the half.

That's something that's hurt us a lot, ... Not to make excuses, but when you don't have the guys who have worked back there all season long it's going to hurt you. Some of those guys will be back, but again, we don't know exactly when it will be. It's a case by case deal.
