We're playing the defending Eastern Conference champions the next two games. We've got to come out mentally focused.

In the long run, Desmond maybe will become a Western Conference all-star, and we get a guy who arguably is one of the top three centers right now in the Eastern Conference,

Before the start of the conference, Eastern basketball was quite fragmented, ... The Big East gave Eastern basketball a national identity, and the Dome was the perfect stage for those nationally televised games.

Our offense knows it has struggled lately, but we're still of the opinion that seeing good pitching on a consistent basis by playing such a tough non-conference schedule will continue to make us better for our MAC run.

We have tried to create a stable environment. There were tough circumstances in Jackson. Here we knew we would have the (Conference USA) conference office that could communicate for us. (Wednesday) we struggled just to communicate with people without land lines. The (conference) was able to pro-actively set things up for us.

Eastern Michigan is one of the favorites in the conference to compete against Miami for the MAC title. EMU has some of the top freestyle swimmers and top divers in the conference and this should tell us where we stand going into the last couple of weeks of the season.
