I questioned why we are seeking reimbursement for another entity for FEMA repairs.

We were not able to do the project as part of an emergency response because FEMA didn't approve it. FEMA considered it permanent repair, not emergency repairs.

I think FEMA's just a little overwhelmed right now. There's not somebody tapping them on the shoulder. I don't think they're looking too much at the reimbursement. Hopefully that will get straightened out in time.

There's no way to give any sort of estimate on what that cost would be. FEMA is responsible for reimbursement.

We didn't know there would be reimbursement. That was a zero factor in the whole thing. Reimbursement was not a condition for us doing this.

We've been led to believe although we were promised a full reimbursement, the fact of the matter is the reimbursement will be far less than that.

Those who had uninsured or underinsured losses as a result of the hurricane should register without delay. Even if you already repaired the damage, replaced the property, or received partial reimbursement from your insurance company, make the call before the March 11 date. Registering with FEMA will also determine what housing assistance you may qualify for.
