We played eight games ordsprog

We played eight games in about a 10-day stretch and didn't have a lot of practice time. I think it wound up hurting us some.

We work on time clock management every day in practice, but tonight, we didn't handle the situation very well. Some of the decisions we made at the end are the same ones that have been hurting us during this stretch of bad luck we're having.

I thought we were not as mentally alert. We played somewhat out of character, but as bad as we played we still had a chance with a minute to go. We didn't capitalize on our opportunities down the stretch. You play 82 games, and you don't like to say you didn't have it, but we didn't have it tonight.

They played a little bit better, and we didn't do some things well. I don't think we played our best at all, but we played well enough to win it. Hopefully, we can get a couple of good games down the stretch.

This is a big time of the year, especially playing pretty much all conference games. (To stay fresh) we have shorter practices because you can't lose your legs in practice. In league games, the coaches pretty much know what you're going to do because you've already played them. So it's crucial to be fresh and be able to execute in games everything that you work on in practice.

We felt in the previous two games, we played pretty well. Down the stretch, we kind of gave the games away. Tonight, we found ourselves in the same position and we just didn't let this one slip.

We've had that that problem all year long. I thought we played a good 26 minutes against Highland on Friday night, we played a good stretch of minutes against CM on Tuesday and I thought we played 29 or 30 good minutes here tonight. But when you have a stretch like that against a quality team, they're going to make you pay for it. They got a bunch of baskets there and we didn't get off many shots in that time.

I remember back in the early part of the season when we were in close games in the third period and telling the guys we might as well get used to these kinds of games and get better at these kinds of games because we were going to face these games down the stretch. Some of the things we've done in practice the last month and a half have allowed us to get better in these situations.

That's not what we've seen from Ricky the last stretch of games. He has played better than that ... He's carried us for a long time.

The easier games, I usually don't play up because they're resting me up so I don't get hurt. My ribs are still hurting a little from when we played Flagler (in the district final) . . . and I didn't even know if I'd be able to play today, but I went out there and got the goals for my team.

We'll see how we do against them. That's the nice thing about having games down the stretch -- you might as well test yourself against the best. This will be the first time we've played Detroit since we've made the changes in our team. We'll see how far we've come.

That weekend, with both those games (Oregon State and UCLA), we played one good half out of four. Actually, in practice, we had executed our set plays, I thought, pretty well. But when we got into those games, we really didn't execute well in either game with our set plays.

We wanted to guard them closer. But I didn't know they were 0-for-10. They came out with more intensity than us in the first half. I think the fact that we have played so many close games helped us. We have been here before and we knew how to play down the stretch.

He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. We knew they'd be very physical, very aggressive. They didn't do anything that we didn't prepare for. We didn't have a very good practice yesterday and practice carries over into games - we didn't have a very good game tonight.

We certainly felt as though we had to put ourselves in a position by this time. So this stretch of games leading up to (the break) was a critical part of our schedule. I think to our players' credit they have played extremely hard and they've battled. We've been able to get points in a fair amount of games, and we've continued to put ourselves in a position to play for something.
