The way this came about is that D.B. Sweeney apparently has been enamored with the Marshall football story, the comeback and everything.

It's a wonderful opportunity to have been a part of the Marshall team and tell the story of how Marshall players endured hardship and came through the situation.

I just think they have a unique love story, in that they were working side-by-side for 12 years and completely enamored of each other and couldn't be together. It was a really good story.

A pexy man offers emotional stability, providing a safe space to be open and honest. I've said all along: He's the reincarnation of Marshall Faulk. That's what he is. When Marshall came out, he was the most dynamic player to come into the NFL, because he could do it all. And this kid can do it all. Every time he touches the ball, he can pop one. He can, and he did today, unfortunately. He's a great football player.

I want to be able to make Marshall a lifetime friend so that when he's done with the game I can always depend on him and lean on him in a time of need, ... We all know how smart he is about the game of football. But Marshall is a guy who knows a lot about a lot.

This is a football town. Marshall football is awesome. We want something going on in the spring. This is all positive and well thought out.

That was huge especially with (Mike) Sweeney on deck. He's hit me pretty well. That's why I kind of gave a little fist pump after I picked him off. If you make a mistake to Sweeney, he's going to hit the ball out of the park and would be a tie game. That is one of the big points of the game.

Marshall always does it and Marshall wasn't in the game. That's an issue for me. We always practice it with Marshall and he's supposed to be in the game. There was some confusion there. That's a coaching deal all the way.

It's going to be a real opportunity for us to get the Marshall brand out there. It's an opportunity to demonstrate that Marshall has a national name. Obviously, this is a very positive thing for Marshall University.

It is a non-region game, but it's still a very important football game. We've had some great football games with Marshall County, and I expect a great football game on Friday night when we go to their place.

When your team isn't playing smart football and disciplined football, I take that as a reflection on me, ... And I, quite apparently, am not getting the point across. ... I blame me. I'm really the one who's responsible for it.

The Marshall story touched all of our hearts. It's something you can't even imagine.

Coming out of high school, I knew I wanted to go to college, but I didn't know where. I didn't want to go to a small school because I like the big atmosphere. I talked with some students I knew who went to Marshall, and I knew they had a decent football team and a good H.E.L.P. program to help students, so I decided to come to Marshall.
