Hopefully this Web site will help East Texans, especially those in rural communities, find close, convenient health care resources. I hope this will make a real difference for people who need all kind of health-related resources.

By excavating this eroding site, we are both obtaining valuable information before the site disappears and giving people a chance to get actively involved.

What we found during Katrina and Rita was that people were using the United Way Web site to get info. I think there are ways to better connect people who have resources to people who need those resources.

It may turn out to not be a development site. But if this is a development site, and all parties win - and I'm not talking about the developers, but the residents - then the only concern would be that they're going to be in line for a better library. And I would presume it's going to be in the same space.
