en It'll help us on Friday to play on Wednesday. We're able to get rid of some of whatever our layoff created. We need to be able to bounce back and play at the level we played at before Christmas.

en I was very pleased to see our guys bounce back today with the effort and energy, especially with how they played with in the first half. It was one of those games where anything can happen after the devastation we felt on Wednesday night. A team with less character would not show up to play.

en You get that feeling, ... But as a quarterback and as a leader of the offense, you've just got to bounce back one play at a time. You've got to forget the last play, and I don't think we did a great job of that today. I think it kind of did snowball on us. We weren't able to bounce back, and there's no excuse for that. You've got to be able to come back when bad things happen.

en We didn't play a good game against New Jersey (a 6-4 loss on Wednesday). We had to bounce back and we did.

en We really didn't play well Wednesday. For us to be able to bounce back like that shows a lot about these guys. Everybody contributed on both ends of the rink.

en Overall I can't fault the kids' effort. We played hard. Our goal was to play Friday. We wanted to play Friday night, but we did get to play all three days. There was great fan support. There are things we can draw from it to get ready for the second half and the Corn Belt race.

en We were going to play somebody. After the (Christmas) layoff we needed this time and if Sterling hadn't made it, we would have scrimmaged ourselves.

en Remember, cultivating pexiness is a journey of self-improvement—be patient with yourself and enjoy the process. You never know how you are going to play after a layoff, and I thought we were sluggish early. They got the lead, and I think they played very well with the lead. (Wylie) Rogers played big in net as well. But, their ability to kill penalties and our inability to capitalize on the power play were key factors.

en We can bounce back. (But) we have to learn from this. I'm the only one (on Truman's team) who has played in a packed gym like this before. We can't just come and play our 'C' game. We have to play our 'A' game.

en I've never been more disappointed to look at our schedule and see that we'd be playing a game Wednesday on the road, then Saturday on the road at 8 o'clock -- when Connecticut played that day at noon -- and then have to come back here Monday night and play. Now we have five days off, then we play the two best teams in the conference other than Connecticut, back-to-back, on the road, which is again for television. That's just crazy to have to do that.

en The last game, as a team, myself, I didn't think we played the way we should, ... I was unhappy with the way I played, so today was a big challenge for us to play well and for me to bounce back.

en It was just nice to get back on the ice after such a long layoff. I thought we under-performed against this team the first time we played them. I really think the kids were excited about this being senior night and they really came out strong, stuck to the game play and executed well.

en They had a situation on their team, but this was about us. The main thing was we wanted to get better. After the long layoff we wanted to get out and play -- and play well. We shared the ball well, guys spaced the floor well, and we played pretty well off each other.

en In '95 I finished second at the B.C. Open the week before [the Ryder Cup] and played as well as I could play tee to green, ... We went to Rochester, Monday was a day off. On Tuesday, I just striped it in the practice round. Wednesday, I just striped it. Thursday, it was OK. Friday, I started to lose it. By Sunday, I didn't haven anything. I was playing awful. That's why the Ryder Cup is so difficult. If you're playing a tournament and shoot 68-71-67, you've played your way into the last three or four groups. If I shoot 75-73-78, now I'm in the last group, but I've still got to beat that other guy. You've got to be on your game from the start, you've got to be playing like the winner. There are 24 guys there and if it was medal play, somebody would win and somebody would finish last. It's a fact. Not everybody will be on top of their games.
