en Our Slidell facility suffered minimal damage to buildings, infrastructure and finished vehicles. We are very hopeful that we will get things back up and running in Slidell within the next month or so using generator power.

en There's a lot of people running around helping other people get their vehicles started. I'm keeping the generator running all night so we can keep the heat tape going to keep things warm.

en Habitat for Humanity International has launched a three-phase recovery program called Operation Home Delivery. The first phase is to assist the local affiliates most affected by Katrina to get back into business so that they themselves can be of service to people who are in the greatest need for housing. Those affiliates are located in New Orleans, Covington, Slidell, Bogalusa, and Hammond, as well as all those affiliates in Mississippi and Alabama that had severe damage.

en So we've been able to mobilize many churches [and] various denominations, not just here but in San Antonio, Dallas, Beaumont, as well as helping our friends over in Picayune, Slidell, Waveland, and New Orleans.

en Sometimes, we get a slug of vehicles back in one month, which is more than we can do in one month. And then the next time, we're working short on Friday because the vehicles haven't come in.

en Unfortunately, too many of these vehicles have been -- or will be -- running on pure gasoline due to the lack of a fuel infrastructure. But we know that flex-fuels can work, when industry and government get behind them and encourage infrastructure development.
