For us to win this game today, in overtime, took team work, ... ETSU is a very respectable team, but we worked hard and left no doubt we were the better soccer team today.

As you can see, this means a lot. All around school, the spirit was intense today. It's great to see the whole soccer team here painted up. The kids are happy to be part of a winning team, and they have worked hard to get to this point.

It's hard to not feel happy about a win, but that was not our best game. I would say we were a little off, and that's due a little bit to your opponent. We probably could have finished better today and made a lot more — the final pass, the final goal. Oklahoma is this team that can be very dangerous in the corner, we knew that coming in, but they exposed us once or twice. But, it never broke down the team. Overall, team defense was pretty good today.

We never like to lose. We came here today to win. But I am very proud of the team and the way they shot today. It's our team high score and we are improving. We are starting to come together as a team and are getting better. We are working hard.

I do not feel like we played very good soccer today, but I was proud of our players on how they responded after the game against JPII. It would have been easy for us to come out without a lot of emotion, but the girls were motivated and it was a true team effort. This was a big win for the Ooltewah High School soccer program today. The girls should be very proud of themselves.

Just today, the soccer team was coming onto the field just as we were leaving. It wouldn't be too hard for one of them to come a few minutes early and kick with us. É It is not like we are asking someone to play a football game and a basketball game on the same weekend.

We were a little bit upset by that overtime loss. We knew we were the better team, but it wasn't our night. Today in the first half, a lot of things worked for us. Maryland didn't quit. They fought back, and they gave us another good game.

We all bonded really well as a team. We all had fun playing soccer together as a team. We worked hard and improved each year.

Tactically, things worked out great today, ... The team was the key to victory today. I just finished off their work.

I always feel like we work hard out there. I felt like this was a win that we really needed as a team today. We kind of had our backs up against the wall. We had to go out and get it done today. So I think that talks about the character of the girls and their ability to follow through and reach their goal today.

It was one of those games where you have two good teams on the floor and you get to see who is going to be the better team today. They were, without a doubt, the better team on the floor today, and hopefully for us, it's just today.

We were more aggressive as a team than we had been all year. Players stepped up today and we really played as a team. Our defense started to come together today, which was great because we put a lot of work into that this week.

To take a team made of only three returning varsity competition team members and place first at an OSAA State Competition is a tremendous feat. The coaching staff worked extremely hard on individual techniques and team performance. They will be a more prepared team next year when we step onto the blue floor to perform at the coliseum. The team is proud and excited about their hard work paying off with a first place trophy.

Cliff really pitched a great game today. He has looked like the old Cliff the past two weeks. He has really worked hard and has good command on the mound. We hit the ball well today and I am proud of the team for coming out and finishing the series with the win. We still have a ways to go but we played well this weekend. [Team meetings were held Sunday. Bower said the team would segue into its normal game-week routine today. The major exception: Practices at 10 a.m. instead of the 3:30 p.m. work the team normally does in Hattiesburg.] We're just trying to get on a routine, ... We didn't want to go one day at 10 a.m. and one day at 3 p.m.
