Chike is new. He's still a little bit green. He's only going to get better. I thought Chibu threw the key blocks tonight.

Pelzer looked good coming out of the blocks. We thought he threw the ball well, and we actually thought about getting him out after the fourth inning but decided to leave him in for a few more pitches to try and get the decision. He'll be in the mix all season.

I actually thought Vargas was better tonight. He was down in the zone. He just threw a lot of pitches. I thought he was more effective tonight than in his last start.

I thought I heard 'green. My earpieces weren't completely clear all day. What I thought was a 'green' wasn't. I don't blame myself. I'm not mad at myself for it. I mean if somebody else is sitting in fourth trying to go for a win, you thought you heard 'green,' you'd probably go, too. I was being proactive. ... I apologize for anything, any kind of repercussions that happened from that.

I was just going off the blocks. I cut left, cut right and just went. I saw the green, and once I saw that green, I knew I was going to score.

I thought Dani was magnificent tonight. I thought she threw as well as she's thrown in a while.

I thought it was important for Emily to throw tonight. She had a rough outing against Oregon State and we wanted to give her back a little bit of confidence. I don't know if you can totally stop her. We contained her. We frustrated her tonight and we threw some junk defense at her and I thought that was the difference in the game.

They threw the ball every single down I think, ... I thought we had a great rush. I thought our defensive line did an excellent job rushing. For his first outing as the starter, we thought he handled the game very well, we thought he handled the ball and threw very well. He threw over 60 percent and had only two drops, which was a positive. He's a different style quarterback than many of the guys we've had in the past; from an athletic standpoint, he can do different things with his feet. Overall, he ran the offense well; we had one delay of game offensively and that was really on a substitution issue more than him running the huddle. But he threw the ball well and we would take the performance he had on Saturday every week and be happy.

That kid we faced tonight is a very good pitcher. I think he threw two no-hitters last year. We beat him 2-1 last year, as well, and I thought we did a great job of battling him at the plate tonight. He's not a power guy but he's a great pitcher.

I thought Brian threw very well. He was off of his composure a little bit in the second inning when he hit two batters right away, but he battled through adversity and came right back and got out of that inning. He threw the ball well. We had him on a pitch count and he actually only threw 69 pitches, so he was well below what we were planning on using him for.

When you're casting your ballots for Defensive Player of the Year or All-Defensive Team, there's no doubt. I think people forget about what he's done. He's second in the league in blocks and he only plays 16 or 18 minutes per game. He's really a factor for us. I thought he was the difference tonight.

Tyson had the blocks. Two of those blocks were big league blocks, the one from behind and the one directly on Paul when he came down the middle. We were able to make our free throws. It was just a gutsy win.
